This easy recipe uses kamut, a 100-percent whole-grain pasta high in protein; find it at health and specialty stores or online. (Eden Farms is one brand.)

Recipe Ingredients:

1 12-ounce box kamut spirals 

2 cups grape tomatoes, cut in half

2 cups haricots verts (small green beans), cut into 1-inch pieces

2/3 cup chopped almonds

3 tbsp olive oil

4 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese 

Preparation:

Prepare kamut spirals per the instructions on the box. While pasta is cooking, cut tomatoes in half, cut haricots verts in pieces, and rough chop the almonds. Set aside.

When pasta is finished cooking, drain water and reserve. Heat a large sauté pan, add oil, and then add tomatoes, beans, and almonds.

Heat for 1 minute. Add pasta and toss.

Serve in four individual bowls and garnish with grated cheese.
